‘Ancient Sands’ is a community celebration organised in celebration of Harmony Day by Madjitil Moorna choir.
The night will include traditional food, activities, cultural singers and dancers, market stalls, and the launch of the music video for Ancient Sands, a thought-provoking new song inspired by the diverse heritage of not only the Noongar people, but all of us.
More than 150 students from Forrestfield Primary School, Willandra Primary School, and West Morley Primary School, will be performing songs from across the globe, and coming together to perform Ancient Sands, supported by Madjitil Moorna choir.
The ‘Ancient Sands’ celebration will also feature a sand story performed by Josie Boyle, a sand mandala by Bec Garlett, and a culturally inclusive Welcome to Country by Nick Abraham. Cultural acts include Aminah Hughes, Beleza Brazilian Drummers, Kwarbah Djookian Dancers, Tara Tiba, and Madjitil Moorna choir.
This will be a fun and engaging event for the whole family, from 5:00pm to 8:00pm at Forrestfield Primary School, with Welcome to Country at 5:45pm.
